Fast Track Yachtmaster Power Course
at Plymouth Powerboat School, Devon & Cornwall & Cornwall

Our Intensive Fast Track Yachtmaster Power course is suitable for complete novices as well as people with previous experience. In just 6 weeks, it will take you upto the level required to sit the RYA Yachtmaster Coastal Exam. The course is ideal if you are looking to start a career in the marine industry working on super yachts, carrying out deliveries or skippering charter boats carrying divers, charter fishing, wildlife safaris or similar.

On successful completion, you will be able to skipper any power driven craft upto 24m in length, carrying upto 12 passengers (+ crew), upto 20 miles from a safe haven day and night.

If you have sufficient mileage logged before the course, you would be able to sit the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Exam instead. On successful completion this will allow you to skipper any power driven craft upto 24m in length, carrying upto 12 passengers (+ crew), upto 150 miles from a safe haven day and night.

We offer a maximum ratio of 3 students to 1 instructor, ensuring that you receive individual attention and get the most from your training with us. 

The course consists of the following modules:

• RYA Day Skipper Shorebased – 5 days in classroom
• RYA VHF Radio – 1 day in classroom
• RYA First Aid – 1 day in classroom
• RYA Sea Survival – 1 day in classroom
• RYA Helmsman / Day Skipper Power – 5 days afloat
• Mile Building – 5 days afloat
• RYA Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster Shorebased – 5 days in classroom
• RYA Coastal Skipper Power – 5 days afloat
• Exam Preparation – 5 days afloat
• Yachtmaster Power Examination – 1 day afloat

Minimum age: 18

Course duration: 6 weeks

Course fee: £9,995 + £168 for Yachtmaster Coastal Exam or £194 for Yachtmater Offshore Exam.

Price includes VAT, accommodation onboard vessel , breakfast and lunch when afloat, all books, fuel, hire of waterproofs and lifejacket.

Dates: We train 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Courses can usually be arranged on a date of your choice.
