RYA Helmsman Motor Cruising Training Course
at Plymouth Powerboat School, Devon & Cornwall

Our RYA Helmsman course offers a thorough introduction to motor boat handling.

Topics covered include:

• Confined space manoeuvring
• Mooring
• Man over board procedure
• Anchoring
• Engine checks
• Collision regulations
• Buoyage
• Basic chartwork and navigation
• Tides
• Communication afloat
• Emergency procedures

The course can either be conducted on our new Jeanneau Prestige 32 flybridge motor cruiser or your own vessel.

Entry requirements: None

Minimum age: 16

Course duration: 2 days - 09:30 to 17:00

Course fee: £400 per person / £800 with 1:1 tuition / £500 on your own boat (upto 4 people)
Prices include VAT, accommodation onboard vessel , breakfast and lunch (except own boat courses), RYA Motor Cruising scheme syllabus and logbook, certificate (on successful completion), all fuel (except own boat courses), hire of waterproofs and lifejacket

Dates: We train 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Courses can usually be arranged on a date of your choice
